Few players made more of an impact in the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII win than veteran defensive lineman Mike Pennel, who was hailed as an unsung hero of the championship game back in February.
Without him, the Chiefs may have struggled to get crucial stops that helped their defense hold the San Francisco 49ers to just 22 points on the NFL’s biggest stage.
Kansas City decided to bring Pennel back after his standout showing in Sin City. In a post on social media, the Chiefs announced that the former CSU Pueblo ThunderWolf would be back in Western Missouri for the 2024 season.
While Pennel isn’t the league’s biggest star, his clutch performance in the Super Bowl won over Kansas City’s fans, who were ecstatic that the Chiefs decided to re-sign him.
