These are the top 10 most expensive new cars

Although the most expensive cars may share some standard features with regular cars, they stand out for their very flamboyant and incomparably amazing aspects that blur the line between a car and a piece of art. In short, these expensive cars typically bring powerful engines, unimaginable designs, and comfort that is experienced for the first time. It’s not simple to claim the title of “the most expensive cars on the planet,” though. Let’s take a look at the 10 most expensive new cars sold in 2022.

10. Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 Roadster ($3.7 Million)

Lamborghini, known for the legendary Gallardo, Aventador, and Murcielago, has gone even further with the Sian FKP 37 Roadster. It is the Italian marque’s first open-top hybrid sports car. The name “Sian” is a Bolognese word that means lightning bolt. As the name indicates, it effortlessly accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.8 seconds and has a max speed of 217 mph.

The two-door roadster features a 6.5-liter V12 engine coupled with a 48-volt mild hybrid system that churns out a massive 819 horsepower. In addition to being the most potent Lambo ever made, it is also the priciest Lambo available on the market. Limited to only 19 units, each sold for approximately $3.7 million.

9. Bugatti Bolide ($4.7 Million)

Bugatti has produced numerous sports cars that have advanced the essence of a hypercar and pushed the limits of the racing world. One such striking addition to its line-up is the track-focused Bolide. The French phrase “le bolide,” which means “the race car,” is the origin of its name. The Bolide, hailed as the most beautiful hypercar in the world, is the pinnacle of sophistication.

The 1,824-horsepower hypercar, which costs $4.7 million, can lap racetracks like the Nurburgring in record time thanks to its more aggressive exterior and increased power over the Chiron Super Sport 300+. It’s obvious why Bugatti’s one-of-40 track car is so expensive given its incredibly restricted production and Chiron-based chassis.

8. Bugatti W16 Mistral ($5 Million)

Dubbed the world’s fastest roadster, the Mistral is undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind performance machine. With the incredible power of the renowned W16 engine, it epitomizes the spirit of Bugatti. In addition to speed and grace, it also offers the most exhilarating, roofless driving experience.

The 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine in this two-door convertible makes an astounding 1,578 ponies. It also has a peak speed of 260 mph. Moreover, its distinctive X-themed taillights and svelte front add to its visual appeal. Despite deliveries starting in early 2024, all 99 of the exclusive units were pre-sold in 2022 for a whopping price tag of $5 million.

7. Pagani Huayra Imola ($5.4 Million)

Pagani Automobili always produces a selection of performance-oriented hypercars. There’s no denying that each new model’s introduction sparks interest among collectors and aficionados globally, and Pagani Imola is no exception. The new Huayra Imola is a road-legal hypercar that represents the full potential of Pagani’s track technology.

This magnificent creation is a more formidable and expensive version of a famous hypercar, the Huayra. It is available in a limited edition of only five units, and each one is staggeringly expensive ($5.4 million). A robust 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine with 827 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque powers the sports car.

6. Pagani Codalunga ($7.4 Million)

In 2022, Pagani debuted the Codalunga, a 5-unit limited edition, as a tribute to the race cars from the 1960s, such as the Porsche 917. This Italian masterpiece sports iconic sleek styling and a fighter-jet-like cockpit. With a mind-boggling price tag of $7.4 million, all five examples were sold immediately.

This two-seater sports car is one of the most potent production car to come out of Italy. A twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine with a seven-speed sequential transmission is mounted under the hood, delivering 829 horsepower and 809 pound-feet of torque.

5. Bugatti Centodieci ($8 million)

The 2022 Centodieci from Bugatti is a truly special and exotic performance machine. Bugatti, already well-known for its innovative bodywork and extravagant comfort features, set out to offer the Centodieci every amenity possible in a quest to make it unforgettable. Limited to only 10 examples, it is one of the most exclusive cars ever built. Despite a hefty price tag of $8 million, all the units have already found their masters, including football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo.

Centodieci marks the 110th anniversary of the brand while also paying tribute to the Bugatti EB110. With its contemporary touch on the classic wedge shape and the legendary 1,577-hp W16 engine, the Centodieci gracefully ushers the EB110 into the modern era. Plus, it can reach 60 mph in less than 2.4 seconds with a top speed of 240 mph.

4. SP Automotive Chaos ($14.4 Million)

SP (Spyros Panopoulos) Automotive Chaos is a newbie to the hypercar scene, yet it has already made an impact. Besides its wild name, the Greek hypercar is crafted using 3D printing and aircraft materials. The Chaos pushes the limits of creativity with its outstanding performance and intriguing design.

Chaos, dubbed the “first ultra-car,” is a pricey affair, with the Chaos Zero Gravity variant costing a startling $14.4 million. Under the hood is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V10 engine that pushes out a monstrous 3,065 hp. It can dash to 60 mph in a mere 1.5 seconds, reaching a max speed of 310 mph. It easily outperforms several notable hypercars in terms of performance. A 2,049-hp Chaos Earth trim is also available, and it cost a cool $6.4 million.

3. Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta ($17.6 Million)

The famous Zonda nameplate’s production came to an end with the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta. Production ought to have stopped years ago, prioritizing the Huayra; instead, Pagani released a special Zonda version, the Barchetta. Built entirely from scratch, there are only three prototypes of this rare and expensive Pagani, which costs roughly $17.6 million.

Interestingly, one was given to the founder, Horacio Pagani, whereas the last one was delivered to the customer during a special event in 2022. A Mercedes-AMG-sourced 7.3-liter V12 engine in this hypercar generates a massive 788 horsepower. It has a maximum speed of 220 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. Furthermore, its impeccable elegance and stunning sculptural beauty turn it into a genuine work of art.

2. Bugatti La Voiture Noire ($18.7 Million)

Bugatti grabbed the attention of the entire car world when it first showcased the La Voiture Noire, a larger-than-life hypercar built on the Chiron platform. The name comes from the French word “La Voiture Noire,” which means “the black car.” Costing a sky-high $18.7 million, La Voiture Noire is also the most expensive Bugatti of all time.

La Voiture Noire serves as a commemoration of the brand’s ingenious architectural heritage. This dazzling black machinery is crafted with hand-sculpted carbon fiber. Moreover, it sports a formidable W16 quad-turbo engine that cranks out a colossal 1,500 ponies. It has a top speed of 260 mph and can hit 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds.

1. Rolls-Royce Boat Tail ($28 Million)

Rolls-Royce is well known for its premium, high-end cars. It offers a level of luxury and aesthetic pleasure that no other brand can match. However, with Boat Tail, the exquisite successor to the stunning Sweptail, it has smashed all records for being the year’s priciest and most exclusive street-legal car on the planet. Boasting a record-breaking price tag of $28 million, it is also the world’s most luxurious car.

Styled as a coach-built model, it fuses traits of a J-Class yacht and the original 1932 Boat Tail. It boasts a distinctive two-tone exterior, custom interior finishes, and high-end detailing. There is also a hosting suite with a built-in sun canopy and a champagne fridge. The Cabriolet also features a potent 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine capable of developing 563 horses.
