The National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game will be held in Indianapolis on February 18, 2024. The game will return to its traditional format, which consists of both conferences competing against each other in a game that lasts for a total of 48 minutes and is divided into four quarters of 12 minutes each.
Participation in the All-Star game has been taking place over the course of the past several weeks, and on Thursday, TNT made the announcement that the starters for both the Western Conference and the Eastern Conference had been selected.
The selection of LeBron James, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, as both a starter and the captain for the Western Conference was made. The fact that he was selected for the All-Star game for the twentieth time is a new record for the NBA, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who earned 19 selections.
In spite of the fact that Abdul-Jabbar was selected to take part in the midseason classic in each of his twenty seasons, he was only selected as a replacement in 1989, which was his final season. Given that he did not participate in the 1973 competition, he has a total of 19 real appearances.
In a few weeks, James will make his 20th appearance at the All-Star game, which will result in his setting yet another record, unless something horrible occurs.
