Classic Icon: 1959 Chevrolet Corvette

Viv Agresti and his son Travis wanted to add a 1959 Corvette to their collection of classic restomod and exotic cars. They worked with designer Murray Pfaff and Marc McCrae at Fast Company in Canada to build this beauty with the goal of “keeping the ’59 DNA with lots of modern technology.”

The Fast Company team started with a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis with independent front and rear suspensions, Wilwood disc brakes, and one-off 19-inch wheels from Mike Curtis at Curtis Speed. Modern power came in the form of a 6.2-liter LT4 crate engine fed by a ProCharger supercharger and topped with custom valve covers. Fast Company built the custom headers and the engine was backed with a Tremec six-speed.

The rough body was brought back to life by the Fast Company crew and Tom Bedo at Bodymotive. The refined lines were complemented by a custom grille and side trim, plus a hand-built soft top. Tom Bedo sprayed the PPG Akoyo Pearl and Rosso Efesto paint. Inside, the Fast Company crew built a custom dash fitted with LCD gauges, while Steve Holcomb stitched the bright red leather upholstery. An Ipod controls the A/C, GPS, and stereo.

The completed 1959 Corvette captures the combination of classic style and modern performance the Agrestis were after, and also captured a Top Five finalist spot for PPG Street Machine of the Year!
