At Oracle Park on Friday night, the most legendary and productive MLB club in history was outdone by the Curry family and the Golden State Warriors.
As the Giants prepared to face the Yankees over the course of three games, Steph Curry and his toddler son Canon were seen playing catch in the bench.
Even though Curry’s kids have never been out of the limelight—whether it is before, during, or after a Warriors game—Canon showcased his multi-sport expertise. Steph surprised fans by showing up to the game and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch with Dr. Clarence B. Jones.
The 93-year-old Jones contributed to Martin Luther King Jr.’s now-iconic “I Have a Dream” speech while serving as the civil rights leader’s personal attorney and wordsmith.
Matt Chapman, third baseman for the Giants, joined them on the mound, and the three of them had a touching pregame moment. It wasn’t just the Currys who were reppin’ Dub Nation.
Brandin Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and Gui Santos were among the other youthful Warriors players who joined them. The Giants may have lost the first game due in part to Aaron Judge’s two home runs for the Yankees, but that didn’t stop Canon, Steph Curry, and the Warriors from having a blast.
