The new Ferrari KC23 is a track car with movable body pieces

The Italian luxury sports car manufacturer has just unveiled the one-off Ferrari KC23. It’s finished in liquid metal-infused paint and has moving body parts.

We haven’t had to wait long for another Ferrari to be unveiled.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer introduced the SF90 XX.

Now the Italian supercar maker has revealed another special creation – the Ferrari KC23.

Man says not everyone knows the right way to drive a Ferrari

The Ferrari KC23 is billed to be even more exclusive than the other supercar mentioned.

Why? Because the track-only model without a license plate is strictly a one-off.

But what also sets it apart is its incredibly unique design.

It adopts styling cues from the Vision Gran Turismo and 499P endurance hypercar, but the Ferrari KC23 is actually based on the 488 GT3.

That being said, the 488 GT3 Evo donor car has been subject to some serious modifications.

These include active aero, which is achieved with motorized side body panels to open the air intakes.

The racing livery has made way for a new paint called ‘Gold Mercury’ which features an aluminum-like finish.

This is achieved by liquid metal which is embedded into the four-layer paintwork.

Sounds costly.

Probably pocket change for the person who commissioned it, though, who is said to be “one very imaginative, passionate and exacting customer”.

Said customer also chose to give the Ferrari KC23 a giant rear wing, which can be optionally removed giving the rear end a smoother look.

Conventional mirrors have been replaced by side cameras for better visibility as well as improving airflow, too.

The Ferrari KC23 sits on a set of 18-inch wheels wrapped in slick tires, but it also comes with a set of 21-inch front and 22-inch rear alloys.

Why? To make it look pretty when it’s on display of course.

On the inside, the KC23 retains the stripped-down configuration with two bucket seats and a variety of switches carried over from the 488 GT3 Evo.

But it also gets a full roll cage and a race-spec steering wheel with no fewer than 16 controls.

As for what’s under the hood, Ferrari hasn’t said whether the twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 has been tinkered with.

In the 488 GT3 Evo, that lump produces 600 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque.

Hopefully we’ll see more, and get to know more, about the Ferrari KC23 when it’s shown off at the Goodwood Festival of Speed which runs later this week.
